Shepherd's Delight.
The shepherd's hut sleeps two and is situated within its own woodland in our 5 acre field. It offers a unique experience to really get away from it all, the perfect romantic retreat.
Your only visitors will be the wildlife in the area including deer, rabbits, pheasants, squirrels, bats, red kites, buzzards, owls and nuthatch. You may be greeted when entering and leaving the site by our very inquisitive alpacas - Flash and Harry.
The hut is off grid with mains water. It is insulated with sheep's wool and has double glazing so can be used all year round. A wood burning stove provides heat and can boil a kettle or be cooked upon.
The double bed has a very comfy spring and memory foam mattress topped with an alpaca duvet (the fleece provided by our very own alpacas) and pillows, with luxurious cotton bedding. A good nights sleep is imperative for a truly relaxing holiday.
There is an outdoor wood fired hot tub for you to further relax and enjoy, available at an additional charge.
There is a fire pit adjacent to the hut, a BBQ and a covered cooking area with a two ring gas stove. All cooking equipment is provided as is a supply of logs for the hut wood burner.
The toilet and basin are nearby and you can experience the wonderful freedom of an outdoor hot shower (please note that as the shower is outdoors, in extreme cold temperatures/weather it may not function).
Above the main double bed is a single bunk - limited headroom so only suitable for a child.
If you wish to bring a pet please let us know at the time of booking.

The area is surrounded by beautiful countryside, with the Yorkshire Dales to the west and the North York Moors to the east, right on the doorstep. There are many footpaths and bridleways (we are situated on the Ripon Rowel) great for walkers, cyclists and riders. Lovely country inns are situated on these walks. The Inn at South Stainley, is open everyday for breakfast, lunch and dinner and only a brief 5 minute walk from the hut. The Malt Shovel Inn in nearby Brearton, is an easy 40 min walk or 5 min drive. The close-by little village of Ripley is just 2 miles away . Ripley has a beautiful castle (which hosts many events including open air concerts), a butcher, a village store, a number of other interesting little shops and The Boar's Head bistro and pub.
Equidistant between Ripon to the north and Harrogate to the south there are many wonderful attractions locally. There is a regular bus (no. 36) that serves the village, which runs from Ripon to Leeds via Harrogate every 20 minutes.
