First of all welcome to my new blog! I'm going to use this to let those of you interested in Shepherd's Delight find out what's going on at our small holding and in the local area.
We've just had a lovely couple stay who have confirmed yet again how cosy the hut is in the winter. They heard the owls calling through the night and the rain stayed off so they sat round the campfire all evening. I'm a bit of a traditionalist-I love Christmas but never want to put my decorations up too early. We'll be putting up our tree this coming weekend (to coincide with the Festival of Angels in York-lovely event) but I'm undecided when or even if I put decorations in the hut. Any ideas? I'm getting the impression that quite a few people like the idea of 'escaping' here so therefore may not want any reference to Christmas at all. Maybe I should just leave it to Mother Nature-there are winter berries shining red on the trees, the stars twinkling at night and if we get a frost or even snow it will be magical.
